HBR Enterprises has grown from a counter in Mandi Mohalla into a wooden toys and educational toys wholesaler that supplies retailers, schools and gifting buyers across India.
Our story
We started by stocking what customers kept asking for
Mandi Mohalla is where Mysuru comes to buy in bulk. Shopkeepers walking through our doors kept asking the same two questions — do you have Channapatna toys, and do you have something educational for a three-year-old. We answered both by going to the source: the lathe workshops in Channapatna, an hour up the road, where wooden toys have been turned and lacquered since the eighteenth century.
From there the range widened. Learning boards and abacus frames for preschools. Bead mazes, rockers and blocks for the activity shelf. Rattles and teethers for infants. Return gifts by the hundred for weddings and school annual days. Wooden idols and showpieces for the gift-store counter. It is all held in one place now, so a buyer can fill a carton across six categories instead of dealing with six suppliers.

Why Channapatna toys still sell
Channapatna is called Gombegala Ooru — the town of toys. The technique is simple and hard to fake, and it is the reason these toys have outlasted every plastic trend that came through Indian shops.
Natural lac colour
Colour comes from lac, a natural resin, applied on the spinning lathe and burnished with a palm leaf. That deep glossy band is not paint sprayed on top.
Made by hand, in families
Every piece passes through an artisan's hands. Buying from us keeps that supply chain short — workshop to godown to your shop.
How we work
Four things we do not compromise on
Honest counts
What the invoice says is what is in the carton. Short counts get made up on the next dispatch, no argument.
Same rate for everyone
A first-time buyer with one carton gets the same per-piece rate as a repeat buyer, at the same quantity.
Safe finishes for babies
The infant range is kept to lac-finished, non-toxic pieces with no small detachable parts. If a toy is not suitable for under-threes we say so.
Packed to survive transport
Double-boxed with filler for the fragile lines. Photos of the sealed cartons go to you before the lorry leaves.
Come and see the stock
Walk-in buyers are welcome at the Mandi Mohalla shop, Monday to Saturday. If you cannot travel, we'll send stock photos and video on WhatsApp instead.
